We’ve experienced a stressful start to November as we prepared for, weathered through, and started to deal with the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa.

If you’re in a position to support those affected by the hurricane, we’ve shared a few resources on Instagram, including trusted donation sites, tips for donating physical goods, and a brief guide to social sharing.

We also still want to share some of the food events happening later this month. We strongly believe that supporting local businesses and their events is one of the best ways we can support Jamaica on a long-term ongoing basis.

NOVEMBER 13-16

Jamaica Food and Drink Festival

The Jamaica Food and Drink Festival returns from November 13-16, a celebration of Jamaican food and culture.

NOVEMBER 21

Argentina Night @ the Kitchen

A taste of Buenes Aires still awaits us at the Jamaica Food and Drink Kitchen (in collaboration with Embajada Argentina en Jamaica and Select Brands) on November 21.

NOVEMBER 22

Vegan Vybz Fest

Experience vegan food, free yoga, guest performances, a kiddies corner, and more at Vegan Vybz Fest on November 22 at Hope Gardens.

NOVEMBER 28

May Pen Nite Kitchen

The May Pen Nite Kitchen invites us to their “lively late-night culinary event” on November 28 at Elite Event Center in May Pen.

If there are any other hurricane relief efforts you think need crowd, or any other upcoming food events, share them with us in the comments below, through our contact form, or DM @wongagyal or @wearewonga on Instagram.

We hope you are as well as you can be in these times. Thank you always for taking the time to visit our WongaBlog.

We’ll update this post as we find more events, so circle back later in the month to see what’s new (or just to help boost our website visits). Or just keep an eye on the @wongagyal Instagram story for even more event and blog updates.
