The Marketer with a Box, a Bag & a Backpack at Meet Street

At the start of the year, we said that 2026 was going to be the year of more #ExperientialMarketing campaigns for the WongaMedia Team, and I'd say we've started off strong!

Last Saturday, at Jamaica Food & Drink Festival's Meet Street & the Market x Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee Festival 2026, WongaMedia had two client activations. Due to limited parking on-site, I had to utilize the JUTC Park & Ride shuttle service to reach the venue with all our promotional items. The world traveller in me activated my determination to pack all our promotional items + my gear into only a box, a bag and my backpack!

I served as Marketing Project Lead for Chilitos Jamexican, partnering with JP Tropical Foods Limited, and we wanted to do something a little fun and silly that would make us stand out. The Chilitos Team is always game for our out of the box ideas, so when we pitched to have a talent (Tarique Barrett) dressed in a burrito costume, it was all laughs and yeses!

We had our Chilitos Andale burrito man roaming throughout Meet Street handing out promotional fans, informing patrons of our presence and where to find our booth. Our suggestions towards the menu and sales strategy, to keep our prices low and ensure our servings were bite-size portions, were a recipe for a successful operation. The Chilitos x St. Mary's Snacks booth was one of the most visited at the event, and maintained positive sentiment with the speed of service.

The Chilitos Design Director approached our fan design from a cool and practical perspective, but inspiring for photos—honoring our brand guidelines but also ensuring performance (it is supposed to be a working fan after all).

P.S. Jamaica has a tropical climate, so promotional fans for outdoor events are never a bad idea!

Our joint strategy saw our fans making appearances in multiple content pieces, various publications, and provided successful brand visibility in a competitive festival environment with 70+ vendors.
