WongaFam!

The summer might be winding down but the Jamaican food events keep coming. From cooking with Kingston’s top executive chefs at Jamaica Food & Drink Kitchen to a Mexican Independence Fiesta and the return of Kingston Kitchen, this month has lots in store for us here in Jamaica.

Of course, September in Jamaica also means back-to-school season, which comes with a bag of stress. There are school supplies and uniforms to buy, new schedules to get used to, and of course the morning and after-school traffic will be horrendous. But, whether you’re going back to school or haven’t been back to school in years, at least we have fun foodie events to look forward to in September.

Also (at the time of writing this), there are only 16 weeks until Christmas—not that we’re counting…

Have a wongaful September and hopefully we’ll see you in the streets at one of these events.

SEPTEMBER 5 | 12 | 19

Off the Menu | Jamaica Food & Drink Kitchen

If it’s one thing about Jamaica Food and Drink Kitchen, they’re going to have innovative interactive food events every month.

For September they’re planning an unforgettable “Off the Menu” culinary adventure where you get to create a unique meal from scratch, guided by Executive Chefs from Kingston's top restaurants. Yum!

SEPTEMBER 14

Fiesta Patria | Taco Spot Jamaica

Taco Spot’s annual all inclusive event celebrating Mexico’s Independence. We can’t think of anything more wongaful than a taco filled fiesta.

SEPTEMBER 14

Restaurant Round Robin | Kamila’s Kitchen

The Restaurant Round Robin continues in September with Kamila’s Kitchen at Skyline Levels up in Reggae Mountain.

If you want to know more about the Restaurant Round Robin check out this Instagram post (@17milepost). Any and every event celebrating Jamaican restaurants, food, community, and unity deserves a crowd.

SEPTEMBER 25

Sip N’ Roll | Sora Cuisine

A sushi masterclass with specially curated cocktails? Yes, chef.

SEPTEMBER 26

Savour Jamaica | Tourism Awareness Week

The Tourism Enhancement Fund says we’re going to Savour Jamaica as part of the 2024 Tourism Awareness Week, and they know the two words to get us anywhere: FREE ENTRY.

SEPTEMBER 28

Kingston Kitchen

It’s that time again!

Kingston Kitchen returns to Hope Gardens on September 28. We say this almost every month, but food festivals at Hope Gardens just hit different! The food, the flowers, the vibes… we can’t stop talking about and going to these events.

Need more encouragement to go to Kingston Kitchen? Rewatch the WongaGyal Kingston Kitchen 2023 roundup.

Are people actually reading these whole blog posts? We don’t know.
