August 2024 Food Event Calendar
Hello WongaFam!
It’s another month, which means another list of Jamaican food events. From Fun Fests to Chef Showdowns, August offers a variety of occasions for eating and spending time with the people you love.
Speaking of spending time together, Happy Emancipendence!
As we celebrate Jamaica’s Emancipation and 62 years of Independence, we take time to embrace our history, culture, and cuisine. From the resilience of those that came before us to the vibrant flavours that define us, these holidays remind us to reflect on our journey and embrace the spirit of a free and independent Jamaica.
If you still need Emancipendence weekend plans, keep an eye out on social media for restaurant specials. AC Lounge has Emancipation Brunch on August 4; Julie Mango Restaurant has Emancipation and Independence Brunch on August 1 & 6 respectively; and we’re sure others will follow suit and announce holiday specials soon.
