Jamaican Food Event Calendar — May 2025
Another month, another list of food events happening in Jamaica.
We have a lot to look forward to this month: everyone posting the gif of Justin Timberlake singing, “It’s gonna be ME-AY”; May flowers; for the fourth of May to be with us; Cinco de Mayo; Mother’s Day; two celebrations of cake artistry; and any surprises May decides to throw our way.
Of course because this is Jamaica and We Are Wonga, any month with a lot to look forward to means good food and vibes ahead.
Happy May!
MAY 1-5
Cinco de Cinco | Chilitos JaMexican
Chilitos returns with their annual five days of Cinco de Mayo specials.
The only thing better than a lychee margarita is five days of lychee margaritas and a Cinco de Mayo fiesta on Sunday May 4.
MAY 2-5
Cinco De Mayo | El Jefe Restaurant
When it comes to celebrating Cinco this year, we have options. El Jefe Restaurant also invites us for their own weekend of festive flavours and specials for Cinco de Mayo.
MAY 3
A Taste of Art 2025
A Taste of Art returns for its second annual cake exhibition.
Imagine an art gallery but the art is made of cake. Plus this year’s exhibit has a Bridgerton theme — so if you’re looking for an excuse to dress up this is it!
MAY 9
St. Ann Agro Fest
St. Ann Agro Fest returns with a fun day and attractions focused on embracing food security through technology on May 9th at Buckfield Playground.
MAY 10
Mother’s Day Cookie Decorating Brunch | Cookie Kraft
Everyone is doing Mother’s Day Brunch, but only Cookie Kraft is doing a Mother’s Day Cookie Decorating Brunch, aka the perfect creative bonding activity to make this Mother’s day even more special.
MAY 11
Sips: Not Your Average Tea Party | Jamaica Food & Drink Kitchen
A Mother’s Day tea party with brunch, booze, and desserts at JA Food and Drink Kitchen? That’s like all of our favourite things in one event.
MAY 11
Mother’s Day Brunch, Buffets & Specials
Speaking of Mother’s Day Brunch, there are so many restaurants hosting Mother’s Day themed meals this year, so here’s a list within a list of places to dine on Mother’s Day:
MAY 25
SweetArt Bake Expo
Another expo celebrating cake? Say less.
The SweetArt Bake Expo promises a good time with cake decorating demonstrations, competitions, vendors, a sip and paint experience, and more!
May 31
Agro-Fest 2025
Agro-Fest 2025, the Kingston and St. Andrew version, hosts its 29th staging on May 31st at Hope Gardens. Stop by for good food, entertainment, and to learn more about Jamaican agriculture.

May the fourth be with you.
Don’t forget about WongaBingo — whoever has the most fun wins.
We asked last month if anyone ever reads this part of the food event calendar and not one person answered. Some people may see that as a sign to give up, we take it as a challenge to write unhinged things until someone notices—just kidding … maybe. Either way we will never give up on our mission to share the food events happening around Jamaica. If food is keeping the people must know because WE ARE WONGA.
We update these posts as we find more events, so keep checking throughout the month to see if we’ve added anything new. You can also stay tuned to the @wongagyal Instagram story for event and blog updates.
